Weddings & Special Occasions

Your Wedding day may be one of the best days of your life, it is important that you look and feel the very best you can. The build up to your special day should be healthy eating, drinking plenty of water and a regular sleep pattern. You also need to keep yourself as relaxed as possible, Wedding planning can be very stressful even when everything is going well.

If you are considering having your hair and make-up done for your Wedding it is advisable that you have a trial a few weeks before, once the Stylist or Make-up Artist knows exactly what you want it takes much less time on the day. You can also see how well the make-up or hairstyle lasts and you will know exactly how good you are going to look too.

Hair

Hair-up for you special day Many Hair Salons will offer a service where they visit your home on the day so that you don’t have to rush around, alternatively there are mobile Hair Stylists that do all their treatments in the comfort of your home. If you will want your hair colouring, make sure you have a patch test, even if you have had your hair coloured previously, better to err on the side of caution. It is also a good idea to plan your hairstyle early on, especially if you need to grow it or have a specific cut or colour, that way your Hairdresser can cut it into the required shape for growing and will be able to advise you when the best time to have the colour done for best results on the day.

The hard part is deciding what style you would like, there are so many to choose from and then the question is will your hair go into the style you really want. You also need a style that will go with your chosen dress, up do's are elegant, flowing curls are romantic, how about a combination of both? Your hair stylist will be able to help you decide if you really don't know and will have a range of styles for you to look through.

Make-up

Natural beauty enhanced by make-up It is important that you feel comfortable with your make-up, if you don’t normally wear it, foundation can feel too thick on your face if you don’t have the right type for your skin and the coverage you need. There are two factors to consider when having your make-up done for your Wedding:

1. You need to look good walking down the isle, whether you prefer a natural or a more made up look, you have to remember that a white or ivory dress can completely drain your colour as well the dress taking over the whole look if your make-up isn’t right.

2. You need to look good on camera, your Wedding photos will last forever and your make-up can make all the difference. Photographic make overs are often heavier to give a flawless complexion and to hide any imperfections as well as using drastic corrective techniques to make you look fantastic, like a model.

To get the balance right so that you look good in person as well as on your photos, a good Make-up Artist will be able to apply corrective make-up to enhance your features, he or she will be able to make you still look natural if that is what you prefer. When you have your trial, you may be shocked at how the make-up looks, to give you a good idea of how you will look on the day, look in the mirror with a white sheet wrapped around you and you will see the difference.

Enhance Your Features

Bridal Packages

Created by Hair & Beauty Mobile by Louise Many Beauty Salons offer packages for half day or full days of beauty, usually consisting of facial and body treatments, manicures and pedicures with make overs, more on this coming soon. French manicures are very popular with Brides as they look more natural and nails can be made to look longer by creating a deeper free edge. If you have medium to long nails you could try something different such as the manicure on the right, instead of a French manicure, this Bride has gone for a natural look with nail art to emphasize the length and the rhinestones add a nice sparkle! This simple but effective nail art was created using dotting or marbling tools, it looks great on the big toe nail after applying the nail polish during a pedicure too, a great look for Summer or with those strappy sandals on a night out.

Lash enhancements are another popular treatment for Brides too, natural or dynamic, there are a few ways of achieving the results you would like. Lash and brow tinting also make a huge difference, especially if your lashes are really pale but you love your lashes long dark and luscious!
